Caroline of Beauty is a Sleeping Cat is hosting a week to honour the writings of Antonio Tabucchi from 17-23 September this year, and I’m going to participate by reading Pereira Maintains. Which is especially awesome because I won it in Caroline’s giveaway! It arrived in my mailbox last week and I’m already looking forward to reading it. Here’s a brief intro to whet your appetite:
In the sweltering summer of 1938 in Portugal, a country under the fascist shadow of Spain, a mysterious young man arrives at the doorstep of Dr Pereira. So begins an unlikely alliance that will result in a devastating act of rebellion. This is Pereira’s testimony.
Thanks for hosting both Tabucchi Week and the giveaway, Caroline!

I’m going to be joining in, too, and with the same book. I’ll look forward very much to hearing your thoughts on it!
